When I grow up...

There have been a couple of "Beyond Sports Nights" where people from different professions come in and talk to us student-athletes (the ones who attend the event that is) about their careers and we get to ask whatever questions we have.
Unfortunately I missed out on the Public Relations night.... (bummer since that is my major and interest at the moment), but I went to the engineering, biological and social sciences night tonight.. Yeah I know, way off my area of interest. But they had free food, and Amy was going so I thought Id tag along. Must say it was suprisingly interesting.

Now I want to be a fireman. Or, more accurately, firewoman.

The event went on for one hour, and all that time I chatted with the firemen, and they made it sound super interesting and exciting. One of them told me it was a good job for people who never wanted to grow up because all of them were like big kids. WOW! He totally sold me on that one...
Another one of the guys told me that it was an adrenaline rush out of this world. He said a lot of athletes liked being firemen because the rush is like the most important competition times 10... 10! That's a big number. Being a fireman is a good job for an adrenaline junkie, which most of us athletes are. We have to be able to produce that adrenaline and work with it at the meets to perform better than in practice.
So yeah, totally sold....

I am going to call one day and ask if I can come on a visit and see what it is like (they told me to call and set up a day where I can experience the life of a fireman), so that's a plan. One of these days when I find time.
:)

we all know that my future job ideas change with days and moods and I always find something new that seems exciting, but it's good to have a number of options to fall back on if some of them don't work out, right?
